November 17, 2021: What Do You Want Me to Say…

In late June/early July, the Chicago Cubs went through an 11-game losing streak that basically sealed the fate of the 2021 season. They sold off nearly half the roster and started to plan for 2022 and beyond. It hurt my soul.

I’m now in a similar position. I have now lost 8 bets in a row, and clearly have no idea what I’m doing. My MACtion over lost by 97 points and the Rangers barely hung on to beat the Canadians. We may be in either a fade myself situation or a retirement situation. More on that to come.

No Podcast for the Next Two Weeks

With Thanksgiving around the corner, everyone is extremely busy and too caught up to make time for a podcast recording. I don’t think I am able to put something together long enough to make a full episode of it between traveling and celebrating, so we are going to hold off on the Tom E Experience podcast for a couple of weeks. Not to worry, because we’re going to keep the written blog going here, FanSided, and Cubbies Crib as things come up to talk about. Follow along via Twitter, too!

Picks

November: 18-26 (Yesterday: 0-2)

Short blog today because let’s face it, I suck. I’m not going to dodge it by writing things about my Bears were screwed post or other stuff going on. I’m not a runner. I can take this face on. Because my picks suck, I have reached out to an anonymous source with an impeccable record and a sense of seeing the board for a couple of picks to get back on track. I trust his analysis and judgement. So here we go.

NCAAB: Baylor -34 vs Central Arkansas (-110)

This is a huge number to cover, even for the defending champions. But evidence shows that it can (and should) be done on Baylor’s home court. Central Arkansas is 0-2, losing to Saint Louis by 35 and Butler by 32. Baylor is number nine in the country, so judging by previous contests, they should go up by 40 and coast. Take a look at -19 1H too if you’re interested. (Odds: DraftKings)

NCAAB: Michigan State/Butler O133.5 (+100)

This pick depends on Michigan State coming out firing out of the gate. If they are able to do that and find the long ball, they should be able to match Butler with the points. Butler is hot shooting three pointers, so the Spartans will have to be right with them there. Butler is a 3-point home underdog tonight. If I was not a Spartan fan, I would advocate for the Butler ML. But legally speaking I can’t do that (but you might should take a peek). (Odds: DraftKings)

NBA: Bulls ML at Trail Blazers (-105)

Okay, this pick is obviously my own. The Bulls are hot and underdogs on the road in Portland. The responsible thing to do is to ride the wave until it dies. They are coming off a Staples Center sweep and feeling feisty. (Staples Center is changing their name. More on that tomorrow.) Go Bulls. See Red. All the things. (Odds: DraftKings)
