November 4th: MACtion WAKtion, Posey Retirement, Thursday Night Football

First things first – this week’s podcast episode is out! Pat is on to talk about some stuff, my buddies Jason and Aaron return for a mid-season look at our predictions from August, and Anna the fiancée gives her preview for Bears vs Steelers Monday Night Football. It’s a long episode, but warranted due to no episode last week. You can tune in via Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or anywhere podcasting is available.

Wednesday Night MACtion Did Not Disappoint

My double MACtion play last night swept and it was absolutely ridiculous. I only watched one of the two games, but there was a sequence in the first quarter where Western Michigan scored a touchdown and kicked the extra point. Then, during the commercial, two separate unsportsmanlike conduct calls bumped the kickoff up thirty yards to the opposing side of the field. Western then kicked an onside kick, undenounced to Central Michigan, and it was wild. Plus, not only did the over hit and Central cover +9 (double win), Central won outright. Incredible.

Buster Posey to Retire After 12 Seasons

What a career for Buster. A .302 batting average with 158 home runs and seven All-Star games. Rookie of the year in 2010 and a three-time World Series champion. Year after year, he was considered one of top three catchers in the league and made San Francisco a destination for free agent pitchers. And my favorite stat of all, he stayed with the Giants for the duration of his career. A no-doubt Hall of Famer in my book, it was a pleasure to watch him catch and I wish him the best in retirement.

It’s also worth noting he left $22 million on the table to retire now rather than after the end of his contract next year and he was still producing at the top of his game, but chose more family time and health over the money.

Thursday Night Football

Tonight, it’s the Jets taking on the Colts in an absolute BARN BURNER of a matchup. I have no idea what Carson Wentz is anymore, good or bad or whatever. I know what the Jets are, but also they took out the Bengals (and me in my survivor pool) last week. Tonight, NYJ is getting 10.5 on the spread. It seems like there’s going to be hype around the Jets covering after last week. It’s a fishy line that the books want the public to take. But also, how can you trust the Colts to cover eleven points when we don’t know if they can hang onto the game late? All these questions lead me to one guy I trust to do things to stuff…

Thursday Night Football: Jonathan Taylor Triple Pick

Jonathan Taylor 2+ Touchdowns (+190), Jonathan Taylor O83.5 Rushing Yards (-115), Jonathan Taylor O16.5 Receiving Yards (-115). I trust Jonathan Taylor tonight against a weird defense in a really weird game. Scoring twice is going to be the biggest fish, but one screen pass will get you the receiving, and I think the Colts can find him 100 yards on the ground. us, you have one and only one guy to watch tonight while your watching what could very well be the weirdest Thursday night game of the season.
